Zagathon Raises over $71K for Sacred Heart

On April 7th 2018, Zags and the Spokane Community got together to make a difference for the kids at Sacred Heart. For 8 hours, dancers stayed on their feet and pushed to raise as much money as possible. At midnight, our Executive Board revealed that we raised $71,223.68 for the kids and we couldn't be prouder of our team!

From 4pm-12am, dancers tore up the Hemmingson Ballroom with some killer dance moves and incredible energy. Each hour, Zagathon had different themes to dress up and dance to like Zag hour, Around the World Hour, Superhero Hour, Disney Hour, Throwback Hour, and Animal Hour. The night was full of visitors and live performances that lit up the night including Zumba instructors, K-Pop Club, Dance Team, Bomb Squad, and lip sync battles.

Most importantly, we were able to share this incredible night with some very special guests. Miracle kids and families from Sacred Heart told us powerful stories of their experiences in the hospital. Some were stories of loss, some were stories of life, but all were stories of hope and love. At the end of the night, every Zag in the building was dancing for something bigger than themselves. They were dancing for the kids that couldn't. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported Zagathon in April. We are so grateful and we couldn't do this without you.

Zagathon Hosts First Annual Gala For the Kids!

Friday, Feb. 23, Zagathon hosted its first annual Gala For the Kids!

From 7-9pm, the Hemmingson Ballroom was transformed into a Runway of Hope. Zags, community members, miracle families, and hospital staff came dressed to the nines. We ate, we took pictures, we laughed, we cried, and we fundraised for the hospital.

One by one, some of our Miracle Kids and families took to the stage to speak about their experience with Sacred Heart and what Zagathon meant to them. They bravely shared their stories and inspired us with their constant positivity.

We closed the night in memory of a Miracle Kid who couldn't be with us that night. Alison Rodriguez was an incredibly special little girl who held a huge piece of our hearts. We first met her when she came and spoke with us last Dance Marathon 2017. Sadly, Alison lost her battle to pediatric cancer last January. One of our Zagathon Exec members, Matthew Bracken, gave a touching tribute to Alison at Gala. We will always carry her and her family in our hearts and we vow to continue her fight.

Between our silent auction and turnout of over 150 people, we raised over $3,500 in one night! We could not have done this without our incredible Zags and Spokane community. We also want to thank our corporate sponsor Loves, for making this happen for us! Check out some awesome Gala pictures below.

Because of you, this night was truly unforgettable. We can't wait to see you in a month for Zagathon! If you haven't already, sign up here!
